Final piece for the "Eowyn and the Nazgul" challenge at ArtOrder.ning . Pen and ink drawing on hot press bristol board. Going for something Franklin Booth-ish, though that man's work is just ridiculous.
Awesome use of the ink, Jake. Love the patterns and textures created by the line work. And yeah, Booth is the bomb! "Painter with a pen," indeed (although personally, I'm more of a brush guy, myself, lol).
Believe me, I know first-hand how tedious the work was! I don't think I could actually do this level of line work with pen-and-ink anymore, hand cramps up terribly now... I'd have to resort to my Wacom tablet and the pen tool set with a little bit of "smoothing" in order to make so many straight lines. Getting old stinks sometimes
And I forgot to mention the elegant flow of your fabric, hair, clouds, smoke and banners
